Last night my roommate, Jeanette and I went to the Brooklyn Night Bazaar that is running in Williamsburg through December 22nd. We got there for 8 and it was already pretty packed. With an eclectic selection of vendors, we picked up some great pieces. From Antoinette where I bought an '89 vintage, aran sweater to The Light Dynamic where Jeanette chose amazing photo prints for her room. We munched on salted caramel ice-cream from Ample Hills and kale salads from Next Door Organics, while listening to beats blasting from the likes of Fatima Al Qadiri and Steve Summers. If you're in the NY area between now and Christmas I would definitely recommend checking it out for an evening wander or a spot of alternative Christmas shopping. They have thought of everything with ping pong tables and a 5 aside football pitch for sports enthusiasts. The place is really well organized and easy to navigate with many of the retailers accepting credit cards. It's open Friday and Saturday 6pm until midnight. Here's some photos I took! x

I have an obsessive personality when it comes to fashion, last year it was burgundy and coats. This year it's silver, black and well, coats (because you can never have to many, especially here in New York). Metallics are particularly popular at this time when every mannequin is adorned in some gleaming contraption for Christmas party shopping. Metallics are usually accompanied by sequins in some way, shape or form and while there is nothing wrong with a bit of tinsel now and then, the last few season have seen it become somewhat repetitive. This year I will be choosing a bold, futuristic silver to replace my favoured sequins jacket you may remember from here, for more shine less sparkle. What do you think? Will you embrace this intergalactic shade?

So it has been forever and my excuses are numerous and irrelevant. But, I am back now for lots of pre-Christmas posting. I'm feeling quite festive after last week's Thanksgiving celebrations, so I decided to begin with this outfit. The cape is a vintage piece I picked up in a Woman's Aid consignment store in Sarasota, Florida. It's so cozy and reverses into an authentic tartan print- which you can see a hint of at the collar and rim this side round. With the riding boots and cossack head band there's a Russian Red Riding Hood vibe to it.

I'm so sorry for my long hiatus. I've been so busy settling into college, I haven't had a moment to myself, let alone to post. But I promise October will be better. To keep myself posting regularly, I was thinking of taking the blog in a new direction? More a catch up from New York with some outfit posts, restaurant reviews, events etc. rather than pure fashion? Like the idea/hate it? Let me know.
Anyway, you'll probably think I've lost the plot with this caption and accessory choice, but yes I'm craving a slick baseball cap. Before you roll your eyes and tell me I've turned into a yank, take a lot at the pictures below. I'm Back!

I've just arrived in New York where I start my Master's in Journalism in September. I'm going to be pretty flat out for the next few weeks.
